Why is this industrial action being announced now?

The Industrial Union is announcing its industrial action at this stage to allow sufficient time for the safe shutdown of production. The union endeavours to ensure plant safety under all circumstances and avoid damage to equipment and other property.

Will the fuel run out in Finland? Will the strike endanger Finland’s security of supply?

Fuel will not run out in Finland because of a political work stoppage of this length. As regards the critical functions of society, fuel distribution is assured at all times and under all circumstances.

Other oil companies are already importing fuels to Finland’s coastal terminals.

How will the strike affect the fuel price?

The fuel price is determined by global markets where Neste has a very small influence.
