Twelfth strike warning for UPM Plywood – strike planned to start on 19 May
The Industrial Union has today 30 April issued new strike warning at UPM Plywood’s four units in Finland. The strike warning is the twelfth one during this round of negotiations. The strike notice also applies to Järvi-Suomen Voima Oy’s Pellos operations.
The strike covers all shifts starting between Monday May 19 at 00:00 and Sunday May 25 at 23:59 according to the shift list.
The company-specific collective bargaining negotiations have been ongoing since spring 2024 without the parties reaching a result. The reason for the prolonged negotiation process and the work stoppages that have been ongoing since March 3 is UPM Plywood alone.
The strike does not apply to work performed to protect human life and health, nor to work performed at the company’s own occupational health station, nor to work performed in the company’s factory fire departments.
The strike involves around 1,000 employees in the company.
