If you fall ill

Notify your employer of your illness immediately. Notify the employer directly and personally in accordance with the procedure agreed at the workplace.
The employer is required by law to arrange occupational health care. Try to visit the occupational health care services designated by the employer in order to confirm your illness. Submit the sick-leave certificate to the employer immediately without unnecessary delay.

If you fall ill during your annual holiday, you are entitled to postpone your holiday starting from the first day of illness. Notify your employer of your illness and wish to postpone your holiday immediately.

According to legislation, employees are entitled to pay up to nine weekdays starting on the first day of illness. The Industrial Union has negotiated better sick pay terms in the collective agreement. Check your collective agreement for the terms and conditions in your industry.
