Industrial Union stages industrial action to oppose Government policies – walkouts in Savo-Karjala

The Industrial Union will continue its short-term one-hour walkouts on Thursday 28 September at seven workplaces in the Savo-Karelia constituency.

The walkouts are staged in protest by the Industrial Union against the actions planned by the Government. The measures affecting working life included in the Government Programme all target one specific group: employees. The gradation of earnings-related unemployment security alone will cut an average of EUR 350 per month for industrial workers. The walkouts will take place at Abloy Oy Joensuu factory, Andritz Warkaus Works Oy Varkaus, Berner Oy Heinävesi, Hydroline Oy, Normet Oy Iisalmi, Orion Corporation Kuopio and Ouneva Oy.

The walkouts do not apply to emergency work or to work that is necessary for the protection of life and health. The Industrial Union observes a four-day notice period for walkouts.
