Tenth strike warning for UPM Plywood – strike starts on 5 May and lasts until 11 May

The Industrial Union has today 17 April issued new strike warning at UPM Plywood’s four units in Finland. At the same time, the strike notice has been expanded to also apply to Järvi-Suomen Voima Oy’s operations in Pellos. The strike warning is the tenth one during this round of negotiations.

The strike covers all shifts starting between Monday May 5 at 00:00 and Sunday May 11 at 23:59 according to the shift list.

The company-specific collective bargaining negotiations have been ongoing since spring 2024 without the parties reaching a result. The responsibility for the slow progress of the negotiations and the fact that work stoppages have already been ongoing for a month lies with the forestry company UPM.

The strike does not apply to work performed to protect human life and health, nor to work performed at the company’s own occupational health station, nor to work performed in the company’s factory fire departments.

The strike involves around 1,000 employees in the company.
