Let’s advocate for our own interests – together
The Industrial Union exists so that we, our industry’s professionals, can work together to advocate for our own interests – and get the help and support that we need.
The main benefit of joining the Industrial Union is the collective agreement (TES), which specifies employees’ rights and benefits. Another good reason is the trained shop stewards who represent employees at the workplace.

Membership provides security throughout your working life – whatever happens. You will receive support and advice, and also legal aid if necessary. As a member of the Industrial Union, you also get the best possible unemployment security.
Join the Union
When you join the Industrial Union, you also become a member of the trade union and, if you wish, of the unemployment fund. Any employee aged 15 or over who works in the Industrial Union’s organised and contracted sectors can become a member.
If you also join the unemployment fund, the Industrial Union pays the fund’s membership fee to the A-kassa as a member benefit, i.e. in this case, the fund membership is included in the union’s membership fee.
Everything you benefit from the membership
Being a member of the Industrial Union will give you a better working life, fairer working conditions, employment security and a broad range of benefits.

Legislation only specifies a small part of the rights and benefits of employees.
Shop stewards work for you
In workplaces all across Finland, you will receive support from shop stewards that have been trained by the Industrial Union. They are elected by employees, and it’s their job to promote the interests and rights of their team in the workplace – and to provide assistance with any issues that may arise.
The Industrial Union’s shop stewards have also been making local agreements with their employers for years. They know how to stand up for you, because they have been trained to do so.
As a member, you will always receive help and support
Being a member of the Industrial Union will provide you with security in the face of any problems at work. You will be supported by your own shop steward, your local branch, and the union’s experts and lawyers.
Together, we will identify both the problem and how to resolve it. Solutions to most issues can usually be agreed on with your employer. But if not, we will provide you with legal aid.
Shall we agree that… campaign Q&A
We want to vigorously promote and defend Finland’s culture of collective bargaining and negotiation in working life.
In particular, we want to highlight the importance of collective agreements for both employees and society as a whole.
We naturally hope that the campaign will speak to our members, as well as those who have not yet joined us.
