Members of the Industrial Union get more benefits
Membership of the Industrial Union always gives more than it takes – and often pays for itself many times over.
Membership of the Industrial Union has tangible financial benefits. The security provided by a collective agreement, interest representation at the workplace, counselling services, training and various discounts make your membership an investment that will repay itself many times over.
Below, we have listed some examples with a tangible value. Make sure you get the most out of your membership!
Collective agreement (TES)
Benefit: 14–25% more pay
The collective agreement negotiated by the Industrial Union guarantees terms of employment that are significantly better than the statutory level. The monetary value is up to 25% of the employee’s total salary.
Employment counselling and shop steward
Not all the membership benefits can be directly measured in monetary terms, although they are invaluable! For example, a shop steward is one of such benefits. They will stand up for you at the workplace and make sure that agreed benefits and rules are respected. Another very important member benefit is free employment counselling, which helps you with problems you may experience in your employment relationship – and can help you in obtaining any compensation you are entitled to, for example.
Legal aid
Benefit: up to EUR 30,000
Members of the Industrial Union can get free legal aid in employment disputes. For example, the cost of a district court hearing can be between 20,000 and 30,000 euros.
