Industrial Union stages industrial action to oppose Government policies – walkouts in Helsinki

The Industrial Union will continue its short-term one-hour walkouts on wednesday 11 October at seven workplaces in the constituency of Helsinki.

The walkouts are staged in protest by the Industrial Union’s members against the actions planned by the Government. The measures affecting working life included in the Government Programme all target one specific group: employees. The Industrial Union’s action is part of SAK’s joint Serious grounds campaign, which aims to defend workers against the Government’s unilateral plans to cut and erode employees’ rights. Read more about the reasons why we are staging political industrial action.

The walkouts take place at ABB Oy Drives Pitäjänmäki, ABB Oy Marine and Ports Vuosaari, ABB Oy Large Motors and Generators Pitäjänmäki, GE Healthcare Finland Oy Helsinki, Planmeca Oy Herttoniemi ja Teknos Oy Pitäjänmäki.

The walkouts do not apply to emergency work or to work that is necessary for the protection of life and health. The Industrial Union observes a four-day notice period for walkouts.
