The Industrial Union launches new political industrial action – one-day strikes in Pirkanmaa
The Industrial Union is continuing its one-day strikes at 14 workplaces in the electoral district of Uusimaa on Thursday 23 November.
The strikes are in protest of the Government’s actions. The Government Programme’s impairments to working life primarily target one specific group: employees. The Industrial Union’s action is part of SAK’s joint Serious Grounds campaign, which aims to defend workers against the Government’s one-sided plans to impose cuts and weaken workers’ rights. The workplaces participating in the strikes are AGCO Power – Generation, AGCO Power – Linnavuori, Bronto Skylift – Pirkkala, Bronto Skylift – Tampere, Fortaco Ostrobothnia – Sastamala, Kyrel – Kyröskoski, Metso Finland – Messukylä, Metso Finland – Tampere, NextPharma – Tampere, Pilkington Automotive Finland – Tampere, Purso – Siuro, Sidoste – Tampere, Tevo Lokomo – Tampere and UPM-Kymmene – Korkeakosken saha.
The strikes do not extend to emergency work or to work that is necessary for the protection of life and health. One-day strikes organised by the Industrial Union observe a five-day notice period.
