The Industrial Union launches new political industrial action – one-day strikes in Southwest Finland

The Industrial Union is continuing its one-day strikes at 10 workplaces in the electoral district of Southwest Finland on Wednesday 8 November.

The strikes are in protest of the Government’s actions. The Government Programme’s impairments to working life primarily target one specific group: employees. The Industrial Union’s action is part of SAK’s joint Serious Grounds campaign, which aims to defend workers against the Government’s one-sided plans to impose cuts and weaken workers’ rights. The workplaces participating in the strikes are Cargotec Finland – HIAB Suomi Raisio, Cargotec Finland – Multilift Raisio, Carrus Delta – Lieto, Kaukora – Raisio, Kaukora – Turku, Lindström – Turku, Paattimaakarit – Raisio, Pilkington Automotive Finland – Laitila, Ursuit – Turku and Wipro Infrastructure – Engineering Salo.

The strikes do not extend to emergency work or to work that is necessary for the protection of life and health. One-day strikes organised by the Industrial Union observe a five-day notice period.

More information about the workplaces that are taking part in the strikes can be found here.

The Industrial Union will make an announcement on the new strikes tomorrow, Saturday 4 November.
